PPA Celebrates 42nd Anniversary

All throughout the country, the Parole and Probation Administration’s (PPA) celebration of the 42nd Anniversary of the signing of Presidential Decree 968 and the 24th Probation and Parole Week was marked with simple and nature-friendly activities.

Various field offices in Regions I, II, III, IV-B, V, VII, VIII, X and XI conducted a massive tree-planting of fruit-bearing and non-fruit-bearing trees as well as clean-up drive along coast lines. These activities, participated by PPA staff, clients and volunteer probation assistants (VPAs) as well as other volunteers, were coordinated with their respective local government units and Provincial and Community Environment and Natural Resources offices (PENRO/CENRO). Tree-planting and coastal clean-up drives are rehabilitation programs anchored on the Therapeutic Community Ladderized Program (TCLP) principle of “nurturing nature for the future.”

In Central Office, a weeklong celebration was held from July 16 to 25, 2018. The celebration included the conduct of personnel development trainings namely the Orientation on Strategic Performance Management System (SPMS), Workshop on Project Procurement Management Plan and Work and Financial Plan, Overcoming Physical and Emotional Distress using Gender-Conscious Approach and Sexual Harassment in the Public Sector held at the DOJ-PPA Multi-Purpose Hall on July 16th, 17th and 19th respectively. Likewise, sports and wellness programs such as Zumba exercise, free eye check-up by J.L.M.
