PPA PARTICIPATES IN UACS APPLICATION TRAINING PROGRAM
A total of thirty seven (37) personnel from Parole and Probation Administration attended the three-day Unified Account Code Structure (UACS) Application Course – Training Program from October 20-22, 2014 at DOJ-PPA Multi-purpose Hall, DOJ Agencies Building in Quezon City.
Sponsored by the Department of Justice (DOJ) in coordination with Department of Budget and Management (DBM), the training program was conducted to explain the benefits of Public Financial Management and UACS in improving financial reporting and analysis for Agency management, discuss how UACS is designed and applied in the day-to-day internal operations of the Agency and recognize the importance of UACS in improving the quality of information provided to management to aid in decision-making. The UACS will be the coding framework for the national government’s financial transactions in all phases of the budget cycle, namely: budget preparation, legislation, execution and accountability.
The activities included in the training program were lectures; exercises or workshop on the topics discussed and open forum. Resource persons during the training program were Mr. Normando P. Siazar, a financial expert on Financial Management Systems and currently working on the AUSAID funded Harmonization of Government Accounts at the DBM; D. Michael Cleary, an international expert on Financial Management Systems and team leader on the Harmonization of Government Accounts at the DBM; Ms. Aurora Detera and Mrs. Grace delos Santos from Budget and Management Bureau.
Other participants come from the DOJ – Office of the Secretary, National Bureau of Investigation, Public Attorney’s Office, Bureau of Immigration, Office of the Government Corporate Counsel, Bureau of Corrections, Office of the Solicitor General, Land Registration Authority and Presidential Commission on Good Government.
